Tokyo, January 20, 2026 – Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, Ltd. (MHI Thermal Systems), a member of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, has completely redesigned its standard wall-mounted air-conditioners for overseas markets.
The new models, launched as the “ZT Series,” will be available in 2.0kW, 2.5kW, 3.5kW or 5.0kW capacity classes starting this spring in Europe, followed sequentially by Turkey.
The ZT Series features a refreshed design that seamlessly integrates into any interior space. The front panel’s sharp, sophisticated form lends the units a modern presence that harmonizes with contemporary interiors. A range of colors provides flexibility to work with a range of decors. Indoor units will be available in white, black, and titanium & black, while for the first time outdoor units will be available in black, as well as the traditional white finish.
Alongside a new design, the ZT Series features a host of functional improvements to make it more efficient and easier to use.
The indoor units maintain their existing size while achieving enhanced heat exchange efficiency through improvements to the heat exchanger, airflow path, and fan design. The outdoor unit’s compressor has also been upgraded. These enhancements increase the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) during the cooling season by approximately 12% compared to previous models(Note1), meaning greater energy savings. Additionally, the units maintain rated heating capacity even under harsh conditions with outdoor temperatures as low as -10°C(Note2), enabling stable heating operation during colder weather.
In terms of comfort, optimized airflow design allows the unit to project conditioned air approximately 11 meters(Note3), delivering a comfortable environment throughout the entire room. Furthermore, the Ultra-Low mode achieves a quiet operating sound level of 19 dB(A)(Note4), making it ideal for use in bedrooms and other quiet spaces.
To maintain air quality and a consistently clean indoor environment, the units are equipped with an Allergen Clear Filter that decomposes allergens. The units also feature internal cleaning function keeps the interior of the unit dry, suppressing mold growth that might otherwise, over time, lower air quality.
From an operational perspective, all units come standard with built-in wireless LAN functionality, enabling remote control via the dedicated “Smart M-Air” app on smartphones and other devices. The app also visualizes power consumption and operational efficiency, and a new graph function has been introduced to provide clearer displays of operational status and power usage. Together, these features make it easier than ever for users to monitor energy efficiency and outdoor temperature correlations and to make changes to operational settings to save energy while maintaining a comfortable room temperature. When paired with optional smart speakers(Note5), voice control and operation status checks are possible.
MHI Thermal Systems will continue to respond to the diverse needs of overseas markets by developing technology and products tailored to individual users, and providing optimal thermal solutions through sales combined with thorough after-sales service of air-conditioning equipment.
